Discover the Southern side of Mount Etna through a fascinating tour at medium altitude!
Aboard our exclusive vehicles you will arrive at 1800 m altitude, from which your path along one of the most scenic trails on Etna will start. Together with our guide you will walk through an enchanting forest, visit some ancient lava flows and admire the wonderful Gulf of Catania from above.
The first part of your tour will end with the overlook on Valle del Bove, where you will finally enjoy the view of the permanently-active summit craters of Etna. After lunch*, the excursion will continue on the edge of some ancient extinct craters and inside a lava tunnel**.
At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste some typical Etnean products for free, including many local varieties of honey, wine, olive oils and much more.
● Pick up at the hotel;
● Hike along a nature trail at 1,700 m a.s.l. , overlook of the Valle del Bove and of the active summit craters of Etna;
● Lunch at a typical refuge of Etna (not included in the tour price) or packed lunch;
● Short visit of ancient extinct craters;
● Visit inside a lava tunnel with torches and speleological helmets;
● Tasting of some typical Etnean products from a local biological producer;
● Return to the hotel.
*Lunch might be packet-lunch or a quick lunch at a mountain refuge, at your choice.
**Before starting the speleological visit inside the lava tunnel, the agency will provide you with torches and speleological helmets.
