"Sartorius Mounts" Tour

Discover the Northern side of Etna thanks to our easy but exciting tour, suitable for families with children who want to explore the mountain, but also for anyone who desires to walk in high altitude – no matter your age!
Our driver and our guide will accompany you to the starting point of the Sartorius Craters naturalistic trail. Here the trekking will begin - a path in which time you will enjoy the wonderful view of the Ionian coast, and at the end of which you will reach the top of ancient extinct craters of mount Etna.
After a short break at a high mountain refuge, the excursion will continue with a speleological visit within an ancient lava tunnel*. While inside, our guide will explain you the formation process of the tunnel and tell you some ancient stories related to our land.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will stop to visit the lava flow of the 2002-2003 eruption - one of the most recent demonstrations of the power of our volcano.

● Pick up at the hotel;
● Hike along a naturalistic trail at 1,700 m a.s.l. through extinct craters, with a panoramic view of the Sicilian Eastern coast;
● Break at a typical Etna refuge at an altitude of 1700 m;
● Visit inside a lava tube with speleological helmets and torches;
● Short visit by car on the 2002-03 lava flow;
● Return to the hotel.
