"Serracozzo" Tour

The most adventurous and exciting tour dedicated to those who want to explore the Northern side of Etna!
The trekking along the Serracozzo trail will begin from a typical Etna refuge at an altitude of 1700 meters.
Together with our guide, you will have the opportunity to visit a recent lava tunnel from the inside – a natural spectacle of which you will discover structural features and curiosities*.
Then the most challenging part of the hike will begin – a steep trail among nature on volcanic soil. Once you will reach the edge of Valle del Bove, you will enjoy the breath-taking view of the summit craters of the volcano.
Walking along the crest of the valley, you will ascend up to an approximate altitude of 2300 meters, from which you will admire the volcanic landscape and discover some of its curious features.
The descent will take place along the eruptive fracture of 1928, dated back to one of the most destructive eruption of mount Etna in the last century.
Once you return at the refuge and have lunch, our guide will accompany you up to the lava flow of the 2002-03 eruption, where you will closely see a demonstration of the impressing power of our volcano.
At your choice, it will also be possible to taste typical Etnean products for free before returning to the hotel.

● Pick up at the hotel;
● Hike along the Serracozzo trail at 1,700 m a.s.l. – departure from a typical refuge of Etna;
● Visit inside a lava flow cave with torches and caving helmets;
● Overlook of the Valle del Bove along the active summit craters of Etna;
● Descent to the starting point along the eruptive vents of the 1928 eruption;
● Lunch at a typical mountain refuge (not included in the price) or packet lunch;
● Short visit by car to the 2002-03 lava flow;
● Return to the hotel.
